Scott Cobb, Sofia Peña Honored by Save Barton Creek Association

Barton Springs lifeguards Sofia Peña and Scott Cobb were recognized by Save Barton Creek Association November 19, 2022 at the SBCA annual banquet for successfully advocating for pay raises, including a $20 starting wage for lifeguards and $21.25 for Barton Springs lifeguards, and a staffing increase of 13 full time lifeguards with full benefits, as well as paid training for applicants taking lifeguard courses, dental insurance for temporary employees who buy health insurance through the City of Austin and more.

Andrew Harrod of SBCA wrote Scott and Sofia, “I am the vice-president on the board with Save Barton Creek Association and we'd like to recognize you for the work you have done to raise pay/staffing for lifeguards at Barton Springs Pool. We would like to present this to you at our annual banquet.”
